Marcia Cannon Henne

Marcia Dene Cannon Henne, 70, of Valdese passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 at UNC Blue Ridge Health following a period of declining health.

Marcia was born February 25, 1955 in Burke County to the late Jesse Pinkney “J.P.” Cannon and Mary Smith Cannon. Marcia served honorably in the United States Army Reserve and worked in the food industry. She loved being a mother and grandmother and taking care of her family. She will be missed by everyone.

She is survived by her husband, George Henne Jr.; sons, Dean White and wife Melissa, and George Henne III and wife Shumin; daughters, Jessica White, Mary Geraldine Yaeger and husband Teddy, and Georgia Henne; and grandchildren, Katie, Isaac, Luke, Eloise, Jarod, Ivana, Daphne, Nick, Jaden, Scarlett, Celeste, Tristan, and Siobhan. Also surviving is her brother, Nyal Lynn Cannon; sisters, Brenda Sue Cannon Bowers, and Scheryl Ann Cannon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
