Margaret Marie Ingle Cook, 103, of Henry River Road, Hickory, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation of Granite Falls after a period of declining health.

Margaret was born on February 23, 1923, in Burke County, NC, a daughter of the late John and Nellie Shuffler Ingle. She was the oldest of eleven children. She was an active member of the Royal Chapel Church of God and after 40+ years she retired from Alba Waldensian-Pineburr Plant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cook; her brothers, Earl, Ed, Clyde, and Lester Ingle; and her sisters, Susie Smith and Ruby Bryant.

Surviving are two sisters, Lucy Day and Viola Morrison; two brothers, Claude Ingle (Becky) and Sam Ingle (Elizabeth); her sister-in-law, Linda Ingle; and her twenty-two nieces and nephews.

Margaret loved her family, her neighbors, and her church. She enjoyed working in her yard and in her garden. Being the oldest of the eleven children, when her father passed away at a young age, Margaret stayed home and helped her mother raise her 10 younger siblings.

Funeral Services for Margaret Ingle Cook will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese, with Rev. Mike Campbell officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
