Mrs. Martha Killian Harwell, 91, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at her residence, following a period of declining health.

Martha was born on March 23, 1935 in Catawba County, to the late Thomas Everette Killian and Elsie Marie Hoke Killian. She was a retired inspector in the furniture manufacturing industry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Ray Harwell, one brother, Charles Everette Killian, one sister, Betty Jean Poovey, a grandson, Travis Greene and a son in-law, Dale Greene.

Surviving is her daughter, Sherry H. Greene of Connelly Springs, granddaughter, Tennille Ratliff and husband Brandon, and three great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Carroll and husband Jon, Riley Greene and fiancé Sophie Byers and Lincoln Ratliff.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
