Marvin Dale Whisenant

Marvin Dale Whisenant, 86, of Lenoir, went home to be with his Lord on Friday October 17, 2025, at UNC Caldwell Memorial Hospital, after a period of declining health.

Mr. Whisenant was born November 12, 1938, in Caldwell County, a son of the late Phillip Marvin and Susan Estelle Braswell Whisenant. He was a member of the Calvary Advent Christian Church in Lenoir, faithfully serving the Lord and a former member of Drexel First Church of God. He worked in construction, loved being out of doors, gardening, helping his neighbors and spending time with his family. Psalm 91 was a favorite of his, always trusting God for all things.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jay Whisenant, Chuck Whisenant, three sisters, Marie Baldwin, Dolly Yount, Margie Braswell a son Colin Whisenant and a granddaughter, Laurette Tillman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gail Ann Searle Whisenant of the home, three daughters, Rita (Garry) Fenton, Jane Sisco and Bregail Regnas, one son, Don (Laura) Kries, one brother, Douglas (Deloris) Whisenant and one sister, Judy (Steve) Snyder. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Cryptside Services for Marvin Dale Whisenant will be held at 2:00 PM Friday October 24, 2025, in the Chapel of Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Brandon Thomas and Rev. Jim Lee officiating.
