Melody Anne Stines Bailey, 53, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family, following a very courageous battle with cancer.

Melody was born March 4, 1973 in Burke County to Melvin Stines and Peggy Bradshaw Stines. She was a member of Lighthouse Ministries Church and worked as a social worker; where she took great pride in her work and was always looking for ways to better herself. She could bring a smile to everyone's face. Melody enjoyed different hobbies outdoors from fishing to camping; but most of all she poured all of her love into her family.

She is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Danny Perrigan; grandparents, Holbert and Relma Bradshaw; Floyd and Edna Ward Stines; and aunt, Laura Keen.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband, Brian Bailey; daughter, Danielle Wright and husband Lance; son, Josh Bailey and wife Carrie; adopted daughter, Tiffany Lester; grandchildren, Haleigh, Katlyne, Saphira, Kasten, Lakai, Kylie, Elijah, Ethan, Kacey May, and Kenzie Amon; and great-grandchildren, Winstyn, and Elliana. Also surviving is her sister, Lorinda Whisnant; and mother-in-law, Linda Perrigan.
