Myra Anne Hardin Causby McDaniel Knowles, 65, of Morganton, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026 in Connelly Springs, surrounded by love.
Myra was born on July 16, 1960 in Rutherford County, to the late Paul Hardin and Nelle Henson Hardin. She lived a life defined by music, art, and a deep and abiding faith in her savior, Jesus Christ. Whether singing, shopping at yard sales and thrift stores, sharing good times with her dear friends, Myra was a great friend and a joy to be around. Her quick wit, deep faith, and loving kindness made her unforgettable to all who knew her. A talented jewelry maker, Myra made beautiful jewelry out of beads, stones, and wire. Those who had the privilege of hearing her sing got to hear an angelic voice that could deliver everything from the sweetest hymn to Linda Ronstadt style rockers.
Myra spent 25 years working for the United States Navy, leading a team of word processors that put technical documents into military standard manuals.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Pam Hardin.
Myra is survived by her life partner, Michael Wilson Knowles; sister, Vicki Hardin Wiseman and husband Danny; brother, John Hardin; her caregiver and loyal friend, Kathy Parker; numerous nieces and nephews; her beloved toy poodle Jiggy; and a community of cherished friends.
Myra built a beautiful life alongside her devoted life partner, Michael Wilson Knowles. Together for five years, they shared a deep bond filled with conversation, laughter, and singing music together, and created a home where everyone felt welcome.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jay Robison officiating.
