Mrs. Nancy Louise Lowman, 87, of Morganton, went to her Heavenly home, Thursday, December 18, 2025, at her residence, following a period of declining health.
Louise was born on December 8, 1938, in Valdese, NC. She was the daughter of the late Mamie Carswell and Everett Berry.
She graduated from Valdese High School in 1957 and went on to graduate from the Rutherfordton Hospital School of Nursing in 1960, as a Registered Nurse. She was known for her kind, gentle and caring nature and was loved by all who knew her, as she served many patients and families throughout the years.
Louise was a faithful member of Praise Assembly of God in Glen Alpine, enjoyed camping, especially at Daniel Boone Campground, tending her flower garden and had a tremendous love of animals.
In addition to her parents and the father of her children, Wayne King, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harvey Lee, Everett Jr., her stepfather, James Thomas and many aunts and uncles.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 35 years, Henry Lowman, children: Kimberly King Cathey (Dan) of Wake Forest, Tracey Nanette Mease (David) of Morganton, Tim Lowman of Hildebran and Denise Lowman Best (John) of Brooksville, FL. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Benjamin Cathey of Colorado, Brandon Mease (Taylor) of Georgia, Jennifer Williams (Justin)of Hickory, Tyler Lowman (Channing) of Hildebran, Ashley Webster of Brooksville, FL, many great-grandchildren, her brother, Marvin Eugene Berry (Barbara) of Hickory, special friends, Judy Canipe Harris (Wayne) of Charlotte, Wanda Martin (Ronnie) of Morganton, Beverly Calhoun of Morganton and too many more to mention here.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M at Heritage Funeral Service on Monday, December 22, 2025.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Pastor Kevin Crawford officiating and Rev. Boyd Biggerstaff assisting. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Amorem Hospice for their unconditional and devoted care.
