Ned Webb

Rev. Ned Webb, 89, of Morganton, went to his Heavenly Reward on Tuesday March 31, 2026, after a period of declining health.

Rev. Webb was born September 30, 1936, in Burke County, a son of the late Willie Estes and Janie Elizabeth Moses Webb. Ned received the call to the Ministry as an 8th grade boy. He received his education as a graduate of Salem High School, Carson Newman College, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, N. Kansas City, Missouri. Ned and Peggy were married during their Jr. year at Carson Newman. Both were working for the college for 50 cents an hour.

Ned was a dedicated man of God serving as pastor of North Catawba Baptist Church, Lenoir, NC, First Baptist Church, Panama City Beach, FL, Highland Baptist Church, Southview Baptist Church, Hope Mills, NC, Barberville Baptist Church, Waynesville, NC, and Greenlee Baptist Church, Old Fort, NC (2). He also served as interim at First Baptist Church, Maggie Valley, NC, (2), and Oak Grove Baptist Church, Clyde, NC. His other ministries include Minister of Senior Adults, Senior Ministry Visitation, Adult Men Shepherd’s Class Teacher and lead men’s Prayer every Saturday at 8:00 AM.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Kral Webb, his son, John Webb and two brothers, Billy Webb and Ray Webb.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, David Webb (Kathy), Debbie Webb (Darrel) and Mark Webb (Sandra Lindo-Webb), a brother, Robert Webb (Shirley) and a sister, Christina Withrow. Also surviving are the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, Ryan, Christiaan, Heather, Joshua, Moriah, Zechariah, Ursula, Ilyana, great-grandchildren, Roman, Alex, Chris, McKenna, Tatum, Bennett, Palmer, Lobo and Esmeralda.

A Service of Celebration for Rev. Ned Webb will be held on Saturday April 11,2026 at North Catawba Baptist Church, with Rev. Andrew Walker, Rev. David Brown and Rev. Keith Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the North Catawba Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:30 until 12:00 at North Catawba Baptist Church.
