Pansy Huffman Cross, 93, of Morganton, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday April 18, 2026, at Grace Heights Nursing Center, after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Cross was born on February 25,1933, in Burke County, a daughter of the late Filo and Liza Huffman. She retired from J. Iverson Riddle Development Center after many years of faithful service. Pansy was an active member of Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church, singing in the choir, playing the piano and singing in a quartet. She was a loving mother and homemaker, a life she enjoyed most.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Cross Stines, former husband, James Cross, daughter-in-law, Linda Cross, brothers, Forest, Clee, Harlen and sisters Vadie, Dicey, Lori, Hazel and Hattie.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Delbert (Patsy) Cross, Ronnie Cross and Jeff Cross. Also surviving are the apples of her eye, her grandchildren, Crystal Smith, Heather Henry, great-grandchildren, Taylor Stotts, Chloe Stotts, Violet, Lily, Aharon, Eden, great-great grandchild, Blakely Cook and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Pansy Huffman Cross will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday April 23, 2026 at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church, with Rev. Danny McNeilly officiating. Internment will follow in the Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church.

The Cross family would like to express their appreciation for all the wonderful care that was given Mrs. Cross by Grace Heights and Carolina Caring Hospice these past few years.
