Paul Aden “Buck” Butler, 80, of Morganton, passed away on Thursday August 20, 2026, at Frye Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health.

Mr. Butler was born May 12, 1946, in Burke County, a son of the late Robert Lee and Bonnie Gibbs Butler. He retired from Henredon Furniture Co. with over 40 years of service and from Broughton Hospital with over 15 years of service. Buck was a faithful member of Zion Road Baptist Church, the Gideons International and a proud member of the Glen Alpine Sports Hall of Fame. In his spare time, he loved to work in his yard and to tend his garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie Wilkerson and a brother, Bobby Butler.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Ollis Butler, two Daughters, Amy Myers and husband Cameron, Jennifer Bolick and husband Max, a brother, Jerry Butler and a sister, Elizabeth Epley. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Gracie Logan (Zyan), Britney Jones (Trevor), Cody Bolick, Melissa Dooley, Kayla Whisnant, great-grandchildren, Jalen Clark, Ashlyn Clark, Tristen Adorno, Olivia Conley, Madelyn Conley, Alaina Logan, Zayden Logan, Amity Jones and Lilly Jones.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Micah Piercy, Rev. Chris Willis and Rev. James Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M at Zion Baptist Church.
