Philip Wesley Taylor

Philip Wesley Taylor, 81, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Philip was born March 10, 1944 in Burke County to the late Lester Taylor and Bertie Miller Taylor. He was a faithful member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, choir member, and several other areas of service. Philip was the owner of Taylor Crane Inc. where he worked for forty years; building structures such as the Valley Hills Mall, East Burke and Freedom High Schools, and many others. He had a love for work and lived his life serving his Lord and family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Berniece Brittain Taylor; sons, Pastor Wesley Odell Taylor and wife Ann, and Andy Taylor and wife Krystal; daughter, Melissa Delp and husband Collin; grandchildren, Tabitha Taylor, Tiffany Taylor, Stephen Taylor and wife Alesha, Aaron Taylor and wife Rebecca, Max Taylor and wife McKenzie, Faith Delp, and Corbin Delp; and great grandchildren, Luke Taylor, Sadie Taylor, and Margaret Taylor. Also surviving are ten brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with Pastor Eric James officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
