Phyllis Mae Wilson Howell

Phyllis Wilson Howell, 90, of Connelly Springs, passed away peacefully at her home on July 22, 2025 after a period of declining health.

Phyllis was born on November 30, 1934, in Burke County, a daughter of the late June and Lizzie P. Wilson. Phyllis was lifelong member of Friendship United Methodist Church. She was the former co-owner of Blue Ridge Gift Shop in Blowing Rock and Connelly Springs.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Clyde Howell; grandson, Brett Roberts; and sisters, Dolly Childers and Margie Deal.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Anita Roberts (Robby) and Patti Moore (Terry); her grandchildren Miranda Boyd (Wes), Bethany Stevenson (Landen), Natalie Hiovich (Tyler); her great-grandchildren, Brayden and Bryce Stevenson, Brooklyn Boyd, Mason and Madison Hiovich; Nieces, Cathy Berry, Rita Hall, Linda Morgan and Nephew, Dennis Stewart.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday August 2, 2025 at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Deval Mason and Rev. Tim Grindstaff officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00pm until 4:00 pm on August 2, 2025.

A Private Graveside Service will be held by the immediate family at Catawba Memorial Park prior to the Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 703 Burke Street, Connelly Springs, NC 28612.
