Ralph Eugene McDonald Jr.

Mr. Ralph Eugene McDonald, 83, of Valdese, formerly of Indian Lake, OH, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Springs of Catawba Nursing Home, following a period of declining health.

Ralph was born on January 30, 1943, to the late Ralph and Iona McDonald. He was a graduate of Indian Lake High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a self-employed jack of all trades. Most recently he was known as the concrete guy by the Knob.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son in-law, Cass Keeler.

Surviving are his children, Anne Keeler of New Mexico, Keith McDonald (Michelle) of California, Bryan McDonald (Melanie) of NC, Kym Hendricks (Shawn) of NC, Chance McDonald of Missouri, April Spencer (Matt) of Ohio, and Dakota McDonald (Katie) of NC, his grandchildren, Britney, Kursty, Cassel, Catlin, Blaise, Landon, Lily, Violet, Kendall, Aubrey, Rylan,Gianna, Sophia, Daphne and Phoebe, and a sister, Patty Clark of Bellefontaine, OH.

A private service will be held at a later date.
