Randy Walters, 70, of Morganton, passed away on Friday May 15, 2026, at Amorem, Burke Hospice, after a period of declining health.

Mr. Walters was born on September 10, 1955, in Avery County, the son of the late McDonald Lester and Lillie Mae Holden Walters. He was a member of Zion Road Baptist Church and retired from the construction industry as a brick mason. His favorite pastime was spending time fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Walters, a son, Randy Walters II, sister, Denitia Walters and a brother, Billy Joe Walters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Billy Joe Walters of Morganton, a daughter, Tammy Mayfield and husband Bruce of Morganton, a brother, Raudy Walters of Marion, and two sisters, Shelia Henson and husband Bill and Freda Bryant and husband Buddy both of Morganton. Also surviving are a special nephew, Rocky Walters who he loved as a son, of Connelly Springs, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Randy Walters will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday May 18, 2026, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with Rev. Micah Piercy officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the Daniels Cemetery, Avery County.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:00 P.M. Monday at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, NC.
