Mrs. Reba Berry, 71, of Valdese, passed away on Sunday June 29, 2025, at Mission Hospital, Asheville, after a period of declining health.
Reba Berry was born August 4, 1953, in Burke County, a daughter of the late Rev. G.C. and Lillie Richard Wray. Reba was a faithful member of High Peak Baptist Church for many years, serving as the church secretary, playing the keyboard, working with the children’s ministry, G.As. and Bible Drills. Reba volunteered faithfully at the Valdese General Hospital Gift Shop and played piano at the Cancer Center and the Berkeley Assisted Living.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Eddie Berry, a brother, Gary Charles Wray, grandchildren, Robert Lee and Rebecca Lynn as well as dear friend Brenda Pendley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Kevin Berry (Wendy) and daughter Jan Triplett (Matt), sisters, Rose Anne Carpenter and Rachel Cozort (Dale). Also surviving are the apples of her eye, her grandchildren, Kimberly Edwards (John), Heather Hylemon (Travis), Richard Hice (Ashlyn), six great-grandchildren Issac Edwards, Lillie Edwards, Alice Hylemon, Lucas Hylemon, Layne Hylemon, Charleigh Hice and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Reba Berry will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday July 2, 2025, at High Peak Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in the High Peak Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at High Peak Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to High Peak Baptist Church Children’s Fund or South Mountain Baptist Camp.
