Rita Darlene Pritchard Powell, 67, of Valdese passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Amorem Hospice of Burke, following a period of declining health.

Rita was born August 16, 1959 in Burke County to the late Jesse T. Pritchard Jr. and Elzora Burleson Pritchard. She attended The Rising Church and enjoyed fellowshipping with her family and friends. In her spare time, she loved to color and being creative.

She is survived by her brother, Jesse Pritchard III and wife Crystal; devoted companion of many years, John Dodd; niece, Kasey Pritchard; and great-niece, Lola Bell.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date by the family at Burke Memorial Park.
