Mr. Ronald Rumley, 27, of Valdese, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2026 at Atrium Health Charlotte.

Ron was born March 19, 1999 in Bluefield, West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his late mother, Juanita Jane Steptoe of Bluefield, WV, a brother, Dwayne Steptoe of Bluefield, WV and a son, King Dwayne Rumley of Marion, NC.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shayla Connelly Rumley, his father, Ronald Rumley Sr. of Georgia, four children; Piper Martin of Marion, Justice Rumley of Marion, Kiéron Miller of Lenoir, and Juanita Rumley of Morganton. Also surviving is a sister, Aletha Nelson of Lenoir, a nephew, Kareem Steptoe of Lenoir, two nieces, Aliyah Fox and Janiyah Nelson of Lenoir, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and best friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Pastor Tony Shirley and Pastor James Wilfong officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
