Ronnie Wayne Hamby, 54, Connelly Springs, passed away on April 18, 2026 at his home following a period of declining health.

Ronnie was born June 22, 1951in Catawba County to Ronald Alan Hamby (Faye Hamby) and Barbara Kaziah Pearson. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed his vacation time with all of them when he was not working. He was a dedicated automotive technician and loved going to car shows.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Travis A. Hamby; and stepfather, Jimmy Pearson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Karin Ethridge Hamby; grandson, Rylan Tallent; sisters, Tammy Maywell, Amber Hamby, and Amy Connelly and husband Dontaye; brother-in-law, Marlin Ethridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Maggie and Lula.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 4:00 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Nicolas Wilson officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the church.

Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
