Roy Russell Bailey, Jr.

Roy Russell Bailey, Jr., 78, of Hildebran, passed away at home on Sunday, June 8, 2025, following a period of declining health.

Roy was born on March 24, 1947, in Catawba County, oldest child of the late Roy Bailey, Sr., and Edna Huffman Bailey. He grew up in Icard and graduated from Hildebran High School in 1965. Upon graduating high school, Roy served honorably in the United States Air Force for several years. It was during his time in the Air Force that he met his wife, Brenda. He worked at General Electric until he retired after twenty-seven years with the company. He loved classic cars, and he had many, many friends whom he loved.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by two brothers, Gary and Steve, and two sisters, Judy and Susan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda Diane Rapp Bailey; sons, Chris Bailey and Michael Bailey; sister, Gail Sherrill (Bobby); granddaughter, Tristen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Catawba Memorial Park at 1:30 PM. Military honors will be presented by the United States Air Force.

The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
