Shirley Irene Robinson, 86, of Valdese, passed away at her home on June 16, 2026, surrounded by her adoring family.

Shirley was born on October 14, 1939 in Burke County to the late Ransom Robinson and Trivie Lowman Williams. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Tommy Robinson; her sisters, Virginia Cooke and Nelia Johnson; and her brother, Eugene Robinson.

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. Her home was a gathering place for countless family meals, holiday celebrations, and cherished memories. Her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Tommy Keith Robinson; her daughter, Kristi Ratliff and husband James Ratliff; her sister, Mildred Prestwood and husband Danny of Hudson; her grandchildren, Erin Willems and husband Jeff Willems of Boise, Idaho, Carrie Berryhill and husband Tyler Berryhill of Nebo, North Carolina, and Jacob Ratliff and wife Ashley Ratliff of Charleston, South Carolina; her great-grandchildren, Ellie Berryhill of Nebo and Amelia Ratliff of Charleston, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Burke Memorial Park.
