Terry Eugene Speagle

Mr. Terry Eugene Speagle, 68, of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Frye Regional Medical Center, following a period of declining health.

Terry was born on February 12, 1958, in Burke County to the late Jonah Rufus Speagle and Betty Jean Annas Speagle. He was employed as a supervisor working at Impact Furniture for many years, until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by father in-law, Mack Carswell, mother in-law, Beatrice Shepherd, stepfather in-law Larry Shepherd, and brother in-laws, Ronnie Carswell and Benny Parsons.

Surviving is his wife, Maxine Carswell Speagle of the home, stepdaughter, Tressie Teague, grandson, Jarad Hartley, and great grandchildren, Mason, Aleigha, and Zane Hartley. Also surviving is a brother, Jonah Alan Speagle and wife Karen, a sister, Vicky Speagle, his in -laws, Ellen Parsons, Darlene Suttle and husband James, Debra Ledford and husband Wesley, Michael Shepherd and wife Renee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Morganton, with Rev. Paul Grindstaff officiating.
