Vickie Darlene Sain Beard

Vickie Darlene Sain Beard, 69, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Catawba Valley Medical Center; under hospice care, following a long battle with cancer.

Vickie was born February 10, 1956 in Catawba County to the late Virgil Sain and Irene Yoder Sain. Vickie was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and loved God and her church family. She adored her grandchildren and loved her family very much.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Beard; granddaughter, Jade Marshall; sister, Lydia Sain; and son-in-law, David Weaver.

She is survived by her daughters, Velva Shapiro and husband Daniel, Katie Beard, and Jessica Weaver and husband James Marshall; grandchildren, Jennifer Lowman, Michael Robert Lowman and wife Chelsea, Vickie Beard, Alexander Weaver, Lilyona Marshall, Samantha Sheets, and Hunter Weaver; and great-grandchildren Steven Beard, and Wyatt Sheets. Also surviving are her sisters, Revonda Icard, and Spring Reitzel and husband Kenneth; brother, Alan Sain and wife Myla; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 5:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Gene Gouge officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the church.
