Virginia Kathleen “Kathy” Reeves, born June 18, 1951, was a devoted wife, the best mother on earth, a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and a godly woman whose faith was at the center of her life. Anyone who knew Kathy would agree that she was an extraordinary mother whose love for her family was beyond measure.

Kathy had a very close relationship with God, and her Christian faith was an important part of who she was. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for almost 50 years, where her faith and love for the Lord remained close to her heart.

Kathy also had a special gift for bringing joy to others through her creativity. She loved painting river rocks for Color Burke and hiding them for others to discover and enjoy. Over the years, she painted thousands of rocks and sent them out into the world, each one offering someone a little surprise and a reason to smile. Through this simple but meaningful act of kindness, Kathy shared her creativity and happiness with countless people in her community and beyond.

She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Roger Reeves; her children, Roger Allen Reeves and Sandra Burnette and her husband, Johnny; seven grandchildren, Jordan Reeves and his girlfriend, Erika; Dustin Reeves; Daniel Reeves and his wife, Anna; Johnathan Burnette and his wife, Miranda; Matthew Lincoln and his girlfriend, Katelyn; Kaylee Burnette; and J.W. Hicks and his wife, Brandie; and ten great-grandchildren, Allisson Lincoln, Kensley Reeves, Blakely Reeves, Braylee Burnette, Ian Burnette, Samuel Burnette, Audrey Lincoln, Abram Lincoln, Cooper Hicks, and Silas Burnette.

She is also survived by her siblings, Rachel Potts and her husband, Bobby, Bud Price, and Larry Price, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Price Wilmoth and Robert Edward “Jack” Price; and four siblings, Eula Collins, Bonnie Creed, Debbie Richardson, and Ronald Price.

The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank-you to Kathy’s hospice care team—Susan, Heaven, Katie, and Pam—for the kindness, compassion, and care they gave Kathy and her family during such a difficult time. Their support will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.

Kathy’s love, faith, creativity, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Just as she sent thousands of painted rocks out into the world to bring joy to people she might never meet, the love and kindness she shared will continue to touch lives long after her passing. Her family finds comfort in knowing that her faith has carried her home to the Lord she loved so dearly.
