Wanda Upchurch Burns

Wanda Kay Upchurch Burns, 74, of Hickory, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 following a brief illness.

Wanda was born June 4, 1951 in Gaffney, SC, a daughter of the late Floyd and Frances Mullinax Upchurch.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband, Dana Burns, and brother, Arnold Upchurch.

Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Jimmy Dale Martin (Cindy) and Timothy Dwayne Martin; grandsons, Cody Dale Martin, Alex Dwayne Martin, and Jason Dean; sister, Teresa Robyn Roach; niece, Lisa Greene (Brian), Nephew, Douglas Fitch (Nikki); great-nieces and great-nephews, Zach Greene, Sarah Harmon, Makayla Roach, Jordan Fitch, Breanna Fowler, Oliver Harmon, and Huxley Fowler; great grandnieces, Charlotte Greene, Emma Harmon, Maddie Fowler, and Abby Fowler; and her fur baby, Samson

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 12 PM at Bible Gospel Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Holman officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Bible Gospel Baptist Church.
