Wayne “Wormy” Allen Hudson, 69, of Drexel, passed away at home on Friday, October 23, 2026 following a brief illness.

Wayne was born October 7, 1957 in Burke County, a son of the late Lemmie and Velvie Chapman Hudson. He had a mind for all things mechanical and was often tinkering with any engine he could get his hands on. He had a special passion for cars, which he made his career as an auto mechanic. He always looked out for his neighbors, friends, and loved his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his six siblings.

Those left to cherish Wayne’s memory include his partner of forty-eight years, Rhonda Bivens; two sons, Steven Hudson (Rosalie) and Christopher Hudson; a granddaughter, Victoria Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Gathering of Friends will be held at Heritage Funeral Service on Friday, October 30, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
