William Vernon Kelly, 76, of Morganton NC passed away on Tuesday February 3, 2026. 

William was known for his faith, and love of family. He loved nature, and his beloved dogs. William retired after a long career with the State of North Carolina. 

He is preceded in death, by his parents, Kyle and Clara and sister, Patricia. He is survived by 3 brothers. William will be sorely missed by his family and dear friend Carolyn Malcolm. 

In lieu of flowers please donate to your local Humane Society. 

Per his wishes, there will be no memorial service. Instead there will be a family trip to spread his ashes in his favorite place.
