Woodrow Wilson Smith, II, 62, of Morganton, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at his residence, following a period of declining health.
Woodrow was born on July, 12, 1963 in Sarasota, FL, a son of the late Donald Marcus Smith, Sr., and Marilyn Robbins Smith. He loved NASCAR racing, and he was in attendance as often as he could. He was a member of North Lenoir Church of God. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by a daughter, Tonya Nicole Smith, and a brother, Donald Marcus Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Paulina Phillips; daughter, Ashley Cook (Roy); grandchildren, Jonathan Cook, Ashlynn Cook, Conner Winebarger, Akira Poarch, and Abigail Rosemarie Phillips; best friend, Cory Winkler; his loving animal companions, Buster, Buddy, Nugget, and Honey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date at North Lenoir Church of God with Rev. James Propst officiating.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting the family.
