Yvonne Cook Rohde

Mrs. Yvonne Cook Rohde, 88, of Hickory, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Amorem Hospice of Burke, following a period of declining health.

Yvonne was born on January 6, 1937, in Burke County to the late Edgar Cook and Rethal Price Cook. She was a retired church secretary and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Coleen Cook, Bill Cook, and Frances Cook.

Surviving is her beloved husband, Walter Baker Rohde of the home, and one son, David Wayne Freeman and wife Connie of Morganton. Also surviving is her granddaughter, Tana Black and husband Jonathan of Morganton, two great-granddaughters, Kendall Bumgarner and Baylee Freeman, and three great great-grandchildren, Aspen Bumgarner, Lennox Bumgarner and River Woody.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church in Morganton.

Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory of Valdese is serving the Rohde family.
